NFF Targets Foreign Coach For Super Falcons

Irked by the inability of local coaches to take Nigerian senior women team to the next level, the Nigeria Football Federation is targeting a foreign coach for the Super Falcons.

But the hiring of the foreign coach who must be an expert in managing women footballers, depends on the availability of funds as the Nigeria Football Federation is presently broke.

Chairman of the technical commitee Christopher Green who disclosed this in a chat that the Super Falcons after dominating Africa for years have failed to break into world reckoning and that it is worrisome.

"We want to rebuild the Super Falcons to not only regain their pole position on the continent but to make their mark on the world scene. The Super Falcons need to step up their game to be among the best in the world," Green said.

"Nigerian coaches have done their best by taking the Falcons to the pinnacle of African football but we need to forge ahead by getting someone who would help develop the team to face the bigger challenges ahead."

He stated that money is the biggest problem facing the NFF and pursuing some laudable projects, adding that a foreign coach would be hired to help develop women's football in Nigeria.

Green regretted that Falcons have lost their prime position in women football but expressed optimism that they will regain their lost glory pointing out that the NFF will announce a detailed program for all national women's teams as soon as funds are available.

They should not bring any foreign that will just chop the country's money and go away again o..There are local coaches they can use.
