Description:

• To ensure that Nigerdock has efficient and robust processes for the respective sites and projects.

• Ensuring the handover and delivery of all completed documents meet project milestones, data and models/systems/databases in accordance with Client, Company and statutory requirements.

• To ensure that the company implements and operates state of the art document control systems and processes which add value and meet the needs of the company and its clients.

• Transfer of skills to Nigerian colleagues.

• Leading and managing the QA/QC project team

• Attend all pre-bid meetings and coordinate all project requirements with the project bidders.

• Attend client quality management meetings

• The preparation and control of project quality system management documentation prior to project commencement.

• Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements

• Monitor the disposition of all issued non-conformance reports.

• The reviewing of site purchase orders to ensure that the applicable requirements are met

• The control of onsite and offsite vendor inspectors

• The compilation of vendor inspection assignments packages

• Coordination of vendor quality approvals when required

• Ensure the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased by vendors

• Review of suppler quality plans against contract requirements

• Review procurement documents to ensure that quality requirement have been correctly translated into purchase requisitions and design documents

• Review supplier inspection procedures and personnel qualifications

• Review supplier material certificates

• Take part in supplier audit and surveillances

• Coordinate with the companies discipline engineers for the resolution of technical discrepancies

Required Skills/Experience:   

• Develop QA/QC staff with focus on optimum balance of Nigerian nationals and expatriate staff

• Work closely with the project QA/QC Coordinators.

• Advise the GM HSEQ and Senior QA/QC Manager on manning competency levels, equipment requirements, and site operations.

• Maintain daily responsibility and control of the assigned site group.

• Ensure that the daily activities of the QA/QC site group are planned and discharged competently.

• Ensure continued compliance with third party accreditations including ISO 9001 2008, ASME 'U' & 'R'.

• Ensure that the company procedures and policies are discharged adequately to the client's project and accreditation authority's requirements.

• Develop future organization, policies, procedures and certification/accreditation requirements in conjunction with the GM HSEQ.

Desired Skills/Experience:   

• Lead company-wide QA/QC continuous improvement ensuring the quality objectives are being met.

• Collect and analyse data to determine the effectiveness of conformity to product requirements.

• Ensure all action being taken is appropriate to the effects of the potential problems to eliminate causes of potential non conformities and prevent recurrences.

• Review welding performance to include quantities and repair rates.

• Providing input during business acquisition activities to ensure proposals are fully compliant with authorities, client and Nigerdock requirements

• Provide input during contracts bid/evaluation/award recommendation activities to ensure that all awarded contracts are technically capable of meeting Niger dock's document control requirements

• Actively support a culture that places OH&S and the environment as top priorities at all levels in the Company.

Required Qualifications:   

• Good client liaison skills and ability to manage client expectations.

• Culturally aware and adept at operating in a multi-cultural environment.

• High level of integrity and ethical behaviour – sets a good example.

• Performance/delivery orientated.

• Strong commitment to high standards of safety and safeguarding the environment.

• College graduate or equivalent.

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in the management and administration of QA/QC fabrication / construction processes and procedures in large projects.

• Full understanding of the ISO QMS management systems, processes and delivery requirements of the construction / fabrication Oil & Gas industry.

• Experience in ISO standard processes / NDT / Fabrication – Construction.

• Good communication and inter-personal skills with ability to communicate well with other departments.

Desired Qualifications:   What we are looking for – A highly competitive remuneration package inclusive of base salary and benefits will be tailored to attract the high calibre of candidate sought for this position, along with a rotational shift pattern of 6 weeks on site and 2 weeks off site. – The QA/QC Manager and his family (if family status is required) will live on Snake Island, a self-contained environment inclusive of both single and family status housing, recreational facilities, restaurant, clubhouse, Internet, Satellite TV, 24 hour shuttle boat service, etc.
