Job Description:

• Provide geophysical support to a number of new ventures, Exploration for acreage evaluations towards future investment opportunities

• Regional screening of new basins, through play fairway analysis

• Assessment of blocks, prospects, leads and well locations, including data rooms

• Ranking of new opportunities, countries, companies, assets, fields and plays

• 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, seismic attributes analysis, time to depth conversion, depth imaging, well ties, integration of geological models

• Identify the need for and propose acquisition, (re-) processing of seismic data

• Prospect and lead generation, identify appraisal well locations

• Risk and volumetric calculations.

• Recommend and prepare timely technical proposals for drilling

• Participation in peer reviews on prospect risk and resources. Ensure all processes are adhered to and to a high standard

• Provide technical support in areas of expertise

• Mentor junior staff

Required Skills:

• Good all round understanding of Geophysics and Geology

• Strong in seismic interpretation, good understanding of acquisition and processing, knowledge of VSPs

• Experience in many geological settings

• Play-based regional mapping

• Ability to correlate wells and work with structural models

• Proven record in identification prospect, mapping, depth conversion

• Knowledge of drilling and ability to assist in preparing well documentation

• Solid on Volumes and Risking, some experience in project economics. Shows strong business acumen.

Any knowledge of Nigeria or working in Africa would be an advantage.
