For 2014-2015 academic year, applications are invited for Fulbright foreign language teaching assistant (FLTA) program. This Fulbright program is open for the Russians citizens to assist in or teach up to twenty hours of language classes a week and to enroll in at least two courses per semester, one of which must be in US Studies. The remaining coursework should relate to their careers in English language teaching. The Fulbright FLTA Program is a nine-months program which will pay for travel, health insurance and monthly maintenance of the selected candidates. The deadline for receiving applications is June 03, 2013.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided to learn foreign language. Course Level: Fulbright FLTA participants may assist in or teach up to twenty hours of language classes a week and are required to enroll in at least two courses per semester, one of which must be in U.S. Studies. Eligibility: -Applicants should be between the ages of 21 and 29 years old on October 1, 2013. The Fulbright Program does not provide financial or visa support for family members of participants. -Applicants should either be current English teachers or in their final year in an institution of higher education studying to be an English teacher. -Applicants should possess the following qualities: maturity, reliability, integrity and professionalism. -The ideal candidate for the FLTA program is open to new experiences and cultures, active and with a sense of humor. It is required that applicants have a strong command of the English language. All candidates invited to the second round of the competition will be required to take the TOEFL exam; the Fulbright program will pay for the test for all candidates. -At the time of application, all candidates must either have their diploma of higher education or BA or be in their final year studying to be English teachers and plan to receive their diploma by August 2013. Many American universities welcome grantees who have completed their MA or kandidatskaya degree. -Applicants must be a Russian citizen and have been living continually in the Russian territory since December 2012.

Scholarship Description: The Fulbright FLTA Program is a nine-month, ECA-funded, non-degree program that provides young teachers of English an opportunity to refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency and extend their knowledge of the society and culture of the United States, while teaching their native language to U.S. students and strengthening foreign language instruction at U.S. colleges and universities. Fulbright FLTA participants also interact with their host communities in conversation groups, extracurricular activities, and community outreach projects. Fulbright FLTA participants must return to their home countries upon completion of the program. Fulbright FLTA participants may assist in or teach up to twenty hours of language classes a week and are required to enroll in at least two courses per semester, one of which must be in U.S. Studies. The remaining coursework should relate to their careers in English language teaching. Fulbright FLTA participants will also be expected to facilitate cultural events, language clubs, and language tables.

What does it cover? Fulbright Program will pay for travel, health insurance and monthly maintenance of the selected candidates. Institutions where the FLTAs are placed provide tuition scholarships for the required coursework.

How to Apply: To participate in the contest, fill out an application, and send the usual (or express) mail or bring in person mandatory attachments to the application. This year for the contest in the first round, you must complete an application in MS Word format and send it as an attachment to an email. Before filling in the Application (Application Form), strongly encourage you to read INSTRUCTIONS for filling, incorrectly completed application can be lost, and you can not take further part in the competition. Word completed application should be sent by e-mail info-at-fulbright.ru with the subject FLTA 2014-15. Please make an application format name: your name on angliyskom_App_form_FLTA (example: Babushkina_App_form_FLTA) application size should be no larger than 2 MB, otherwise there is a risk that we will not get it.
