North Korea has stationed as many as five medium-range missiles on its east coast, according to defense assessments made by the United States and South Korea, possibly in readiness for a test launch that would demonstrate its ability to hit U.S. bases on Guam.

As the region is on high alert, a team of NBC News correspondents has been deployed to cover the potential impact of a missile launch.

NBC News foreign correspondents Richard Engel (in Seoul, South Korea), Ian Williams (in Beijing, China) and Ayman Mohyeldin (in Tokyo, Japan) participated in a Google+ Hangout on Friday.  Left to right: Ayman Mohyeldin, Richard Engel, Ian Williams. They discussed the attitudes in the different countries towards North Korea's rhetoric, the real potential of a missile launch and much more.
