Inter Milan Coach Still Believes In Joel Obi

Inter Milan coach, Andrea Stramaccioni, is optimistic that Nigerian midfielder Joel Obi will win his battle over frequent injuries so that he can once again prove his qualities in the colours of the former European champions next season.

The San Siro-based side have not been consistent with their performances this season as they are currently placed seventh on the Serie A log and the coach admitted that unavailability of some of the young but exciting talents coming up through the rank compounded their woes though he could not specifically access the contribution of Obi to the team in the ongoing season due to his injury problems.

"He (Obi) has never been available this season and so practically, no one ever talks about him. I have so much confidence in him and among the many players who I want to see in the next season, he is certainly one of them. I wish him good luck, " the Italian gaffer quipped.

Joel who suffered two relapses of his left thigh injury and underwent surgery recently told Complete Sports in an exclusive chat that he has started gym work and will begin ball work ahead of full recovery.

"I miss football and that is normal."

"I am happy that I am back with my rehabilitation but I will soon be fully fit to start playing. I have missed the game but I will be back and better."
