Lowe Coalition Against Domestic Violence (LCADV) is offering six Alice Barton Scholarships in USA for Scholarship Program works to empower survivors of domestic violence through education and job training. This scholarship program helps victims to increase their self-confidence, find better employment, and achieve economic independence. The money of the scholarship may be used to pay tuition, books, and fees for classes, and a portion may be used to pay other expenses which support the survivor's education and job training efforts, such as child care or transportation. 6 scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded in summer or fall of 2013.

Course Level: The scholarships is available for first college degree or technical job training level at LCADV in USA.

Eligibility: -survivors of domestic violence

Priority will be given to survivor applicants:

- seeking their first college degree or technical job training,

- who have been referred by a local domestic violence program, and

- who have completed the Allstate Foundation Financial Literacy curriculum offered at their local domestic violence program.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of USA can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Alice Barton Scholarship Program works to empower survivors of domestic violence through education and job training. Economic abuse is a common and effective tactic batterers use to control their victims. Financial barriers persist even after a victim successfully leaves her abuser. By enabling victims to gain new knowledge and skills, the Alice Barton Scholarship Program helps victims increase their self-confidence, find better employment, and achieve economic independence.
