Summary   (Finance Jobs in Africa):  – Reporting to the Group Financial Controller in Dubai, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the Finance Department and will have a strong link with the local GM. The Financial Controller will supervise, control and streamline the finance and accounting function of the local business, manage full set of books and fulfill financial and management reporting requirements as per the Group policy. – The ideal candidate will be Chartered Accountant/ Cost Accountant with atleast 5 years relevant experience in trading organization of which 3 years as head of department with business size of over US$10m and accounting staff of 10.

Desired Candidate Profile:

•   Chartered Accountant/ Cost Accountant / Post Graduate in Commerce (in age bracket of 35-45 yrs)

•   At least 5 years relevant experience in trading organization of which 3 years as head of department with business size of over US$10m and accounting staff of 10

•   Ideally with past working experience in Nigeria or listed company

•   Excellent skills on MS Office and well known accounting software packages

•   Excellent communication skill in spoken & written English

•   Should be cost conscious, hands on, analytical and a team leader

•   Should possess sound business acumen and interpersonal communication skills

•   Willing to travel

•   Immediate available is preferable

Job Description:

•   Support of management in evaluating top line & business results from a financial standpoint and make recommendation to maximize profitability.

•   Maintain proper internal control to safeguard company's assets, streamline operations and improve fund management.

•   Build the company budget and estimates, monthly comparison with actual results and exceptions are highlighted.

•   Able to prepare monthly management account and complete reporting package independently and ensure deadlines are met.

•   Review and control of day to day activities of the Accounts Department.

•   Verification of import transactions and remittance thereof

•   Review monthly BRS / Stock Statement, etc

•   Compliance of sales policy, evaluate debtors' credit control & debt collection

•   Maintain optimal stock level by controlling purchase plan, review stock ageing and prepare product costing analysis.

•   Ensure correction calculation and timely filing and payment of all local tax and statutory dues and returns

•   Review of Insurance coverage of assets and pending claims if any

•   Ensure compliance of the SOP at the branches and obtain the weekly / monthly reports from branches

•   Monitoring and supervising the works of local staff and other ad hoc assignments
