Our client, a leading exploration and production oil and gas operator, have an opportunity for a Senior Planning Engineer to work on a contract basis, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Senior Planning Engineer will consolidate, control and coordinate all planning and progress measurement activities, related to the package scope of supply. They will ensure that all package activities are correctly planned and performed, throughout the whole project duration in accordance with the initial plan, and will focus on the package schedule and identify at all times, any area of concern. The Senior Planning Engineer will ensure availability at all times, of updated and accurate package scheduling, planning and progress reporting documentation.

The Senior Planning Engineer will update the package work breakdown structure, elaborate, update and revise the package schedule, the package planning progress measurement procedures and documents, and will follow closely the activities of the contractor planning engineer(s). They will monitor closely the contractors execution schedules and progress reports, check and comment on the contractors procedures, schedules and methodology, and will provide assistance to the Package Manager and Project Control Leader, for all matters related to the planning progress reporting, as well as analyses and simulations of new schedules. The Senior Planning Engineer will participate in reviews and technical audits on planning progress activities, provide detailed and accurate monthly progress reports, and will prepare weekly and monthly package reports and handle their distribution. They will collaborate with the package cost controller for validating progress, and will assist the planning leader for integration of work package schedule into the overall project integrated schedule.

The successful applicant will have a very good knowledge of project planning practices and PRIMAVERA, a vast experience in large oil and gas projects with strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills, and will have excellent command of written and spoken English.
