Role Summary/Purpose: This role is situated within the Record-to-Report Team, ensuring integrity of Company financials and providing support for all accounting activities of the shared service center in Nigeria. This will include working with the other Enterprise Standards teams to enhance operational excellence and drive compliance and controllership in the processes in the Center.

Essential Responsibilities:

•   Support review of P&L details with Finance Managers and Project Managers

•   Support quarterly review of balance sheet with the Controllership team

•   Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly management reports to HQ and the business units

•   Perform routine review of the General Ledger for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP

•   Detailed analysis of costs lines on monthly basis

•   Participate in audits: Statutory, CAS, and internal

•   Participate in the preparation of the annual statutory and tax filling.

•   Participate in IFRS conversion

•   Participate in the annual and statutory physical stock count, as well as monthly inventory reconciliation and management controls

•   Drive tax filing compliance for withholding taxes and VAT; ensure that all documents required for tax remittances are provided on or before deadlines

•   Implement & maintain the financial rules, procedures & records to meet the GAAP, legal and tax requirements

•   Preparation of budgets and periodic variance analysis

•   Preparation of account reconciliations and timely remediation of un-reconciled accounts

•   Resolve queries from all key stake holders

•   Preparation of audit schedules

•   Drive continuous process improvement in the accounting processes in the Center, including key controllership projects

•   Identify key compliance & controllership metrics and drive improvement of these metrics

Qualifications/Requirements:

•   Good Bachelor's Degree

•   Professional Qualification in Accounting: ACA, ACCA, CPA etc.

•   Minimum of 5 years finance/ accounting experience

•   Excellent computer skills

•   Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

•   MUST be fluent in written and spoken English

•   Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner, able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

•   Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvements within operations/finance function involving process improvement: able to quickly grasp new ideas

•   Leadership experience: has experience leading team members, balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, leveraging expertise, clear thinking, imagination and external focus

•   Self -motivated and high energy with proven ability to deliver results

•   Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization

•   Basic understanding of financial compliance: US GAAP, IFRS, SOX etc.

•   Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

•   Project management & coaching experience will be an asset

•   Ability to influence without authority and work collaboratively in a team

•   Relationship Building & networking skills with internal organization and customers

•   Strong interpersonal and communication skills

•   Capable of working independently

•   Prior experience in a shared service center will be an asset
