The Industrial Training Fund/SMEDAN, Bauchi Area Office executes mandate in line with the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government.

                        The National Industrial Skills Development Programme [NISDP] under the National Industrial Training Fund in Bauchi commenced its programme in October, 2012 and has successfully graduated one thousand youths in cell phone and generator repairs respectively in recent times.

Recently, at the graduation ceremony of the NISDP trainees, the Area Manager, Alhaji Saleh Garba said that the training commenced in December, 2012 through April, 2013 and was segmented into three sections which include extensive hands-on, mind-on, training with seventy five percent practical and twenty five percent theories.

He revealed that ITF has procured adequate training tools and equipment in order to provide extensive practical in both GSM and generator repairs and maintenance.

He said that the training was properly coordinated by well qualified master trainers of the two trades while practical tests and examination were conducted during the training within which the trainees exhibited high quality of understanding and learning.

He added that the second component of the training includes entrepreneurship by the Industrial Training Fund and SMEDAN.  He said, this was to expose the trainees to the basic knowledge and skills of generating and developing business ideas with a view to preparing them to be potential entrepreneurs who can generate jobs for self reliance and poverty alleviation.

Alhaji Saleh Garba acknowledged that the trainees were also sensitized to develop trade association under the close guidance of Bauchi State chapter of Association of Small Scale Industries.

The Area Manager, Alhaji Saleh Garba recommended the establishment of GSM Villages and generator maintenance/repairs cluster in each senatorial zone.

Finally, he urged the State, Local government and individuals to support the NISDP trained technicians in Bauchi State with working tools and take off capital to start their businesses immediately now that they have graduated.
