Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the pioneer and leader of the petroleum industry in Nigeria.

Responsibilities:

•   To support the Contracts for the execution of pipelines,on time,to quality specifications and within budget in a way that fulfils SPDC's policy of sustained mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders and the environment.

•   Other key responsibilities include the following:

•   Contribute to the development of the main tenders and the Project Execution Plans for the pipeline projects.

•   Manage delegated authorities of any contracts as per the SPDC Contract Management Guideline with special emphasis on the HSE issues of the contractor.

•   Supervising the execution of contracts from detail design through to commissioning,drawing on the appropriate technical & commercial expertise and other specialist support as and when required,from within and outside SPDC. This is to ensure that the pipeline systems are designed and installed to meet statutory and Company requirements.

•   Review Contractor's HSE and quality plans in order to ensure compatibility with Nigerian and SPDC/SIEP Standards and specifications.

•   Identify and evaluate process hazards,develop hazardous area classification,and contribute to the development of HEMP documentation.

•   Participate in pipeline projects audits / reviews,Hazops,Hazard and QRAs during concept development,conceptual and detailed design basis. Implement recommendations of the Environmental Impact Assessments studies in the pipeline designs and specifications.

•   Compile and issue timely,accurate and concise project progress reports.

Requirements:

•   A University graduate or equivalent in a technical discipline (preferably mechanical engineering) with 10 years experience of which at least 3 years are in project engineering, pipeline engineering and front-end engineering design.

•   Working knowledge of a broad range of project management, Pipeline engineering systems, tools and practices, and a thorough understanding of project economics..

•   Good inter-personal and leadership skills.

•   Good communications skills (i.e. report writing and presentation) are essential.

•   Proven ability to deliver in a challenging environment.
