Nissan Leaf Nismo RC Debuts: 2011 New York Auto Show

The Nissan Leaf Nismo RC — short for Racing Competition — prototype debuted Sunday, ahead of the 2011 New York Auto Show, with aspirations to be the star of green motorsports. The green racer — which has no exhaust sound — is spun off the electric Nissan Leaf, but sits nearly a foot lower than the production Leaf. Nissan says in preliminary testing the Nismo RC sprints from zero to 62 mph in 6.85 seconds and has a top speed of 93 mph.
