What we do

SFH is a charitable non-governmental organisation dedicated to the alleviation of poverty in Nigeria by improving reproductive, maternal and child health.

Since 1985, we have been working to improve the quality of lives of the poor and vulnerable in Nigeria.

Our success and growth over the years is due to the dedication and creativity of our staff and our unique organisational structure.

SFH's main activities are in 4 main programme areas: HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis prevention, Maternal and Child Health (Prevention of diarrhoeal disease and malaria prevention and treatment), and Child Spacing and Reproductive Health.

Operational Strategies

SFH is structured along programme divisions.

• SFH programme divisions develop evidence based strategies for combating the various health issues the Society addresses in its day to day activities.

• The Field Operations divisions are the implementers of SFH programme strategies in states and community sites all over Nigeria.

• The Sales and distribution division manages distribution of our 19 strong product range.

• The Support divisions, which include Finance & Accounts, Administration, Research and Corporate Communications and Strategic Behavioural Communication, provide functional support to all the other divisions within SFH.

Each division performs distinct functions and roles, the interplay of which deliver on SFH's key objectives.

Joining the SFH Winning team

Our jobs are distributed between the Head Office in Abuja and our 16 Territorial and Regional Offices all over Nigeria.

• Traditionally, the programme implementation (Field Operations and Sales and Distribution) staff are based at the various intervention sites in the regions while support staff are based in the Head Office. However to engender cross functional teams and broaden our skills, staff can be rotated between different divisions and regions.

• SFH offers a transparent and competitive recruitment process to fill vacant positions and every application receives equal attention by a committee constituted to match applications received with pre- determined criteria based on the job requirements.

• Successful applicants undergo induction and basic management skills training and later on, function-specific training to develop the required technical skills relevant for their jobs.
