Lagos Business School - MBA Students Mark Second Annual Finance Day

  • Members of the Lagos Business School MBA students' Finance Club recently marked their second annual Finance Day with a conference on the theme "The Road to Financial Recovery: Do We Have a Compass?"

     

    The Finance Day is the climax of the club's activities for the academic session which gives members the unique opportunity of gaining cutting-edge insight into present day financial trends, and participating in discussions with industry veterans on current issues.

     

    This year's conference attracted notable speakers including renowned economist and managing director of Financial Derivatives Company Limited Mr Bismarck Rewane, who gave the keynote address. Other speakers were Dr. Ogho Okiti, chief economist of BusinessDay Newspaper who spoke on the recent banking sector reforms by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Representing the CBN governor was Dr Ajewole who responded to the topic "CBN Reforms – are they the right medicine".

     

    Also speaking at the event were Mrs. Abimbola Onyeji, an alumnus of LBS and Treasurer of Kakawa Discount House Ltd., and Mr. Kayode Fahm, a financial analyst and CEO of Enia Advisory Partners, an independent advisory business for institutions, who both spoke on advanced financial products.

    About 90 delegates attended the conference which wrapped up with a cocktail reception.
