South-South caucus of PDP urges a review revenue allocation formula.

The Federal Government has been called upon for the urgent review of the Federal Revenue Allocation Formula to enable the Federating units in the country derive development and achieve horizontal and vertical equity.

This call was made by the South- South Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held on the 12th of May, 2013 in Asaba, Delta State capital.

The zone also called for the immediate passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and said when passed into law, would launch Nigeria into the next level of sustainable development of our hydrocarbon resources in a manner that takes into account the needs of the present generation of Nigerians without mortgaging our future.

The caucus also condemned the spate of terrorist activities, its sponsors and collaborators in the parts of the country and commiserated with the President, Government, victims and their families and indeed, the peace loving Nigerians.

The South-South caucus also reiterated its support for President Goodluck  Jonathan`s administration and urged him to forge ahead with the task of transforming Nigeria and provide good governance, growth and development to all and sundry, assuring him that "Nigerians who gave him an overwhelming mandate are solidly behind him and his programmes".

The South-South caucus meeting had in attendance all South-South PDP Governors, Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, Senators from the zone and all top PDP stakeholders in the zone.
