Canada to partner Nasarawa State on education and agricultural development.

                        The Canadian government has expressed its readiness to partner with the Nasarawa State Government in the area of education and agricultural development.  The Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Chris Cooter disclosed this during a courtesy call on Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura at the Government House in Lafia recently.  According to him, the partnership became necessary in consideration of the potentials which Nasarawa State has in education and agriculture, to boost the economic status of the state.   He further said that no society in the world today can develop without education and agriculture.  He called on the present administration in the State to maintain its status of accountability, transparency and fairness in all its dealings, saying that is the only way of encouraging the Canadian Government to key into the partnership aimed at developing the State.  On his part, the Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-makura expressed joy over the visit and assured the commissioner of the State Government's readiness to partner with them in that sector.  He appealed to the Canadian Government to equally extend the partnership in the areas of skill acquisition programmes that will be beneficial to the youths and enable them become self-employed.
