Debbie Martin, the aunt of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has passed away.

Two weeks after Angelina Jolie revealed she had a double mastectomy surgery, her 61-year-old Aunty passed away on Sunday at the Palomar Medical Centre in Escondido after a long time battle with breast cancer.

Late Martin was the sister of Angelina's mother, Mrs Marcheline Bertrand who died of breast cancer in 2007 at age 56 Debbie Martin's husband, Ron, said the 2 sisters had the same mutated BRCA1 gene which Angelina Jolie sadly inherited.

2 weeks ago, Angelina Jolie confessed that doctor said she had 87% risk of breast cancer and 50% risk of Ovarian cancer.

"I decided to be proactive and to minimise the risk as much I could," – said the 37-year-old actress.

Breast cancer is really troubling so many women in Africa and it would make sense if a cure could pop up anytime from now.
