Nigeria and South Korea have expressed interest to partner in aviation development in the area of infrastructure, human capacity and aerotropolis.

                        The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Aviation, Dr. George Afamefuna Ossi during a meeting with the visiting Korea Transport team in Abuja, stated that Nigerian aviation industry has a lot of investment opportunities that Korea can utilise.   He called on Korean investors to study the Nigerian aviation industry and identify areas of interest and co-operation.

The leader of the Korean team and President of the Korea Transport Institute, Mr.  Gyeng Chul Kim in his speech, stressed the need for collaboration between the two countries in airport development, saying that both countries can share experiences and exchange ideas on how to improve the aviation sector.

Mr Chul Kim noted that South Korea was ready to partner with Nigeria in any area of the aviation sector.

At the meeting, the Korea's team made a presentation on Korea's Airport Development and their success story from 1916 to date.  They stressed that the Airport needs five years master plan, a mid/long term national airport system development plan in every five years.

They encouraged Nigeria to carry out master plan for the aviation industry in every 5 years.

In her presentation, the Rector of the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Captain (Mrs) Chinyere Kalu identified areas of collaboration between the college and Korea such as the development of infrastructure, need for Boeing 737 simulator for training to meet airline demands, refurbishment of training hanger, manpower development for instructors and the need for exchange programmes between the two countries in aviation.
