Retired Grand Khadi of Niger State and co-founder of the Islamic Education Trust (IET) Sheik Ahmed Lemu was named by the Federal Government yesterday to head a 22-man panel to "investigate the pre-election violence in Akwa Ibom State as well as the civil unrest in some States following the 2011 Presidential Election." President Jonathan had promised to constitute such a panel days after the riots broke out in the wake of the announcement of presidential election results.
