NUJ commends Zamfara State Government

NUJ-logo                        The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended the Zamfara State Government for its support to journalism Profession.

The commendation was made by the NUJ President, Comrade Mohammad Garba while speaking to newsmen at the commissioning ceremony of the modern State's Radio Station.

The President expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship between the State Government and journalists working in the State. He congratulated Governor Yari for his 2nd year in office; adding that the tremendous efforts of the Governor towards development projects in the State was highly commendable. Comrade Garba then urged Journalists to practice with ethics and report stories that would promote peace, stability and national integrity in the country.

In his address while commissioning the project, the guest of honour and former Governor of the State, Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima Bakura disclosed that, considering the transformation and good governance in the State, Governeor AbdulAzeez Yari Abubakar deserves endorsement to re-contest in the 2015 general election.

The Senator expressed appreciation with the projects of Governor Yari's administration and urged people to give the Governor more support in order to execute more projects.

Earlier, the State Governor, Alh. AbdulAzeez Yari Abubakar stated that the construction of the new Radio Station was initiated during the previous administration; pointing out that his administration earmarked the sum of N438 Million to complete the administrative block, studios and equipped it with modern facilities in order to upgrade the station to standard.

The occasion which was part of the democracy day celebration was attended by the State Deputy Governor, NLC President and Presidents of RATTAWU, NUJ, NURTW, TUC NULGE and the National Chairman of ANPP, Chief Ogbannaya Onu.
