The Tax Appeal Tribunal, TAT, sitting in Abuja will on Thursday June 27 resume sitting after three months of suspension of session.

The court Secretary, Mr. Aliyu Saka, disclosed this in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja.

Saka said the resumption of the tribunal sitting was sequel to the approval of the reappointment of its members by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The secretary said the tribunal members were reappointed for second tenure of three years after the completion of their first term in February.

He said: "The first tenure of the commissioners came to an end in February in accordance with the provision of Paragraph 4 of the Fifth Schedule to the FIRS Establishment Act 2007 which provides for a three-year term of office for commissioners.

"Sequel to this development, the court will on Thursday June 27 resume sitting after three months of suspension of session."

Saka explained that the tribunal would resume session with two cases of Oando Plc versus Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS; and British America Marketing Nigeria Limited against FIRS.

He disclosed that the subsequent sitting would feature cases of Orchid Nigeria Limited with Nigerian Customs Service and FIRS.

Other cases listed are Nirvana Oil Field Services and FIRS; Continental Re-Insurance and 43 others; and Milan Nigeria Limited against FIRS.
