Our client is seeking to appoint a Managing Director based on Snake Island in Lagos, Nigeria.

Reporting to the Executive Chairman of the Group, the successful candidate will:

•   Have full P&L and operational responsibility, leading the management team of functional directors and divisional GM's, as well as driving further strategic development of company and Snake Island Integrated Free Zone.

•   Full P&L and Operational Responsibility for Multi Divisional Business employing circa 2500 people.

•   Promote company and Snake Island Integrated Free Zone as Flagship Companies for Nigerian Content

•   Constant review of Operations and Facilities to ensure delivery of Safety

•   Quality, Project Delivery and Financial Control

•   Building relationships and trust with clients, partner companies and other professional stakeholders

•   Provide Strategic, Technical and Commercial direction for the business

•   Develop & implement policies, procedures and programmes to improve efficiency

Experience Required:

•   Strategic and Entrepreneurial individual with a minimum of 15 years industry experience and who is currently operating at MD, VP or equivalent level within an Upstream Oil & Gas Services company or EPC Contractor

•   Business or Engineering Degree with a Masters or MBA (or equivalent postgraduate study) preferred

•   Demonstrated P&L , management and leadership responsibility across a large scale multi-disciplinary organisation, employing at least 1,500 people, with turnover not less than US $150 million

•   Solid understanding of the supply of industrial engineering, steel fabrication, offshore construction and logistical support products and services to the upstream oil and gas sector, in particular involving iron & steel fabrication, working with and through EPIC and other major contractors

•   Ability to provide leadership, direction, supervision and a disciplined structure and process, often in the midst of obstacles and frustrations, without becoming submerged in detail and or allowing others to divert and or outflank him from the goals to be achieved and the tasks in hand necessary for to secure that achievement

•   Preferably with previous experience of working in African or similar challenging environment
