My client, an International Engineering and Consulting Company, are seeking a Lead Mechanical/Piping Engineer, to join their team working on the Sèmè Field Development Project in West Africa. The role will initially be based in the company offices in Lagos, Nigeria before moving to the field in Porto Novo, in the Republic of Benin. This is an initial 12 month contract, which will work on a rotational basis (6×2)

This role will involve both offshore and onshore work. The offshore work is based on a small wellhead platform and the onshore work is based on 2 large storage tanks. These are connected by pipelines.

The ideal candidate will possess:

•   Responsible for specific engineering works for The Clients Nigeria Projects.

•   Coordinate engineering support with other subcontractors for the various EPCI packages for the project. (Sèmè Field Redevelopment)

•   Coordinate efforts of Mechanical and Piping discipline engineering team, including monitoring team members' performance and overall progress.

•   Must be able to perform stress analysis, Data sheet, Material Specification, and direct design and drafting work

•   Can perform design and engineering activities regarding static equipment

•   Can perform design, analysis, and engineering activities regarding rotating equipment

•   Can perform design and design reviews on onshore and offshore piping systems and components.

•   Able to follow-up with all vendors and contractors/subcontractors for procurement, fabrication and construction.

•   Able to review submissions by contractors for compliance with project requirements as well as to the required ASME, API, NFPA Codes.

•   Follow-up on factory acceptance tests, performance tests, and design validation for static and rotating equipment.

•   Must be able to follow-up with installation, commissioning and testing during field work.

•   Must be capable of reviewing procedures for installation, testing etc.

•   Coordination and guidance of reporting with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager as well as support of Construction Manager during the field stages.

•   Early recognition of project plan deviations and the introduction of corrective actions.

•   Organisation, origination and pursuit of the project files and documentation in coordination with the Project Manager.

•   Immediate notification to the Project Manager or Engineering Manager concerning non-conformances and unusual events, particularly in relation to possible contractual effects.

•   Ensure fulfilment of the Contract Scope of work related to Mechanical and Piping engineering.

•   Co-ordinate and lead the between the different groups/disciplines involved.

•   Plan and ensure the documentation of design reviews and interdisciplinary checks related to his tasks and give input to Project Manager.

•   Excellent use of Software like CAESAR, CAD
