2011 WAAW Foundation Scholarships for Female African Students

WAAW foundation is pleased to announce the next round of its scholarship program, offering $500/year for need-based female African students admitted to a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Scholarships are renewable annually, following proof of the student's continued academic performance.

ELIGIBILITY

Female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
1.   Female student of African Origin
2.   Currently enrolled in undergraduate degree program
3.   Studying in a university or college in Africa
4.   Able to demonstrate financial need
5.   Excellent Academic Record

APPLICATION PROCESS

Scholarship applications are reviewed by the WAAW foundation Scholarship Committee, and awards are announced at the end of January for the scholarship year. WAAW will start accepting applications from October 1, 2011. Applications submitted prior to this date will not be received or reviewed. Application deadline is the 15th of December 2011. HOW TO APPLY

Visit the WAAW foundation web site here to apply online. You must complete the validation to ensure you are eligible to apply. Please read and follow the application instructions carefully. You must have all required materials and essay to begin your application. Your application must be finished in one sitting, and include the following:
1.   Application form filled out online. We are no longer accepting hard copy or pdf applications.
2.   Curriculum vita or resume submitted online.
3.   Responses to essay questions that address your future career goals, annual budget, and how you expect the WAAW scholarship will assist in your education.
4.   Two letters of recommendation from academic mentors/advisors submitted online.
5.   Current University transcripts, where applicable.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

Please complete all sections of the application form and submit all required materials to WAAW foundation by December 15, 2011. Completed application forms and supporting documents must be submitted electronically. This year, WAAW will only process applications submitted online.
