Jatau Salutes Keshi's Eagles

Nigeria's emphatic 4-1 win against the Elephants of Ivory Coast has drawn commendations from a cross section of former players.

Former national team player, Ishaya Jatau was full of praise for the Super Eagles and predicts a right future for the team as Keshi tries to fashion out a team.

"I was very impressed with what i saw. The players did quite well even though there are areas that need improvement, the team will come good." The former Heartland and Plateau United forward enthused.

"Keshi is doing a great job, he should be encouraged, this is the first time that we have an indigenous coach who is trying to do things right and he needs our support.

Jatau was also happy that his former team mate Steven Keshi is towing the line of Clemence Westerhof whom they both played under "I love Keshi's template for the national team, he is towing the line of Clemence Westerhof and it is beginning to show. We have to back him in his blending a decent national team inclusive of the home based players,".

"I want to implore the NFF to continue to give him the neccesary support so that he can take Nigeria back to where we should rightly be.

Gambo Mohammed, Sunday Mba with a brace and a late goal by Ifeanyi Edeh was enough to give Nigeria a 4-1 victory over Ivory Coast in a CHAN 2014 qualifier played at the main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
