CHAIRMAN of Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, Rev. Sam Kem, has said that there was no war between Ijaw and Itsekiri in Delta State.
.
He said that what happened in Warri North was an isolated case fueled by some miscreants, who must be fished out and punished.
.
He said: "We had skirmishes traceable to some miscreants, who want to cover their nefarious economic activities under the guise of ethnic conflict.
.
"I am a Warri man and if there is going to be a conflict, I will know. Right now, there is no conflict.
.
"I can tell you that there is no agenda for Ijaw to fight Itsekiri and no agenda by the Itsekiri to fight the Ijaw.
.
There is no plot anywhere by any of the ethnic groups to go on rampage.
.
"It is an isolated incident. What is going on is the handiwork of miscreants, economic saboteurs and those who believe that it is only when there is turmoil that they would be able to carry out their oil bunkering and piracy activities."
