CAN Ratifies Oritsejafor’s Re-Election

In line with the constitution that established the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, the body's National Assembly, yesterday, ratified the re-election of Pastor Ayodele Oritsejafor to pilot the affairs of the umbrella body of Christians in the country for the next three years.

This is just as the re-elected boss called for a review of understanding of Christianity in the country.

In May, a five-member electoral committee, headed by the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, NCPC, Mr. John Opara announced the incumbent president, Pastor Oritsejafor as winner, having polled 80 votes.

His only opponent and the President/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Baptist Convention, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, got four votes.

Other officers are expected to be appointed in due course in accordance with the constitution of the august body.
