Malawi coach Tom Saintfiet is looking for 'ambitious players' to help the Flames qualify for next year's World Cup in Brazil.
.
Saintfient disclosed on Tuesday that he will carry out a radical overhaul of the Malawi squad.
.
He made the disclosure following the disappointing performance against Angola in Lusaka on Tuesday. Malawi lost 2-3, effectively booted out of the Cosafa Castle Cup tournament.
.
The 40-year-old tactician was angry at the lacklustre display. Saintfeit has decided that he has to create a new Malawi team without the baggage of previous failures. He has concluded that the only chance of success is to make changes.
.
"l want to bring in players who match the hunger for success ," he said in Kitwe, Zambia after Malawi were sent packing.
.
"Football is about results," the Belgian said as his reign has started with two consecutive defeats in the tournament.
.
"I am very disappointed," he conceded, adding "If you don't score your opportunities and give goals away like this, you can't win."
.
Saitnfiet said Malawi did not deserve to lose the match against Angola which they led and also dominated play.
.
"It's unacceptable to lose this match," he said.
.
The Belgian was appointed at the start of July on a two-month deal, tasked with steering The Flames past Nigeria in their final Group F qualifier on 6 September – a win would put them through to the play-offs.
.
He said the Cosafa tournament has given him chance to see what to do when the team starts preparations for the Nigeria match.
.
Saintfiet remains confident he can get the required result against Nigeria.
.
"I am determined to succeed," he said, adding:
.
"Malawi can go to the World Cup."
