AmaZulu midfielder Letladi Madubanya said his side were feeling confident ahead of Thursday's clash against English Premier League side Manchester City in the Nelson Mandela Football Invitational at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
.
The match will be televised live on SS4 at 8pm, live streaming will also be available online as well as text commentary.
.
The Citizens will go into this game looking to redeem themselves after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of SuperSport United on Sunday but Madubanya says they are well-prepared for Thursday's meeting.
.
"We just came back from Namibia and Johannesburg where we played tough friendly games against tough opponents so we are feeling quite confident and the guys are looking sharp," he said.
.
"We watched the game they played against SuperSport United and we're expecting an even tougher encounter.
.
"We're not intimidated by anyone. We respect them as professionals and for what they have achieved in Europe but as soon as the whistle goes we will compete for every ball."
.
The Gauteng-born midfielder believes that playing against this level of competition will help to shape the rest of their preseason as they look to hit the ground running when the new campaign resumes in August.
.
"As a team there are certain things that we are working on and the coach will also use this game to try different combinations and get closer to picking his 11 or 18 players for the start of the season," he added.
.
"As players we'll use this as a benchmark to see where we are in terms of being ready for the league and what we still need to work on in the next two weeks.
