Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the pioneer and leader of the petroleum industry in Nigeria.

Responsibilities:

• Provide cost engineering support and functional expertise to project team.

• The Cost Engineer will be responsible for providing cost reporting and analysis to the project team on assigned cost engineering matters.

• Input into cost engineering deliverables (including Value-of-Work-Done and Management of Change support) and inform project team on project services procedures,processes and templates.

Requirements:

• BSc. Degree or HND in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying with a minimum of 5 years of project experience in the oil & gas industry (Substantial experience in another industry will be considered on a case by case basis).

• 6-8 years of relevant job experience as a cost engineer within the oil & gas industry will suffice for the lack of academic qualifications or degree.

• Knowledge of basic cost engineering practices required. Demonstrable hands-on experience in some functional aspects of Cost Engineering including budgeting, forecasting, commitment control, change control, variations, and/or claims analysis are preferred.

• Proven competence with an Enterprise system such as SAP is desirable but not a pre-requisite).

• Ability to work cohesively and communicate successfully in multi-cultural teams whilst being aware of and sensitive to cultural differences. Tact, teamwork, and diplomacy are of the essence.

• Demonstrable understanding of all interdependent project services functions including planning, scheduling, contracts management, project accounting, and document control.

• Demonstrable ability to communicate, coordinate, and manage cost data flow interfaces with each function.
