THE controversy in the South-East over the positions which the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is believed to have zoned to the area in the current political dispensation has been condemned by a prominent monarch in the zone, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo,
the Obiukwu of Nri kingdom.
The monarch spoke against the backdrop of demands for positions and appointments being canvassed by different interest groups in the zone, saying that the Igbo should stop confusing Jonathan in that respect. He wondered why Ndigbo could not articulate their position as a united
front and push as a group.

The monarch said he could not understand why governors in the South-East always sideline the Ohanaeze Ndigbo in sensitive national
issues, adding that it is foolhardy for anybody to think that a tree can make a forest.
He also lamented what he called the shabby treatment being meted out to traditional rulers in the area, saying the situation has disabled
most monarchs in the zone in decision taking.
