A Chief Executive Officer with significant experience within the Nigerian oil and gas industry is required to take this independent exploration and production company to IPO within the next three years.

As CEO you will have overall responsibility for the development and IPO of the organisation with a view to strengthening the existing operations and increasing the asset base around the world, which currently includes land, swamp, shallow and deepwater offshore fields in Nigeria, as well as in other Sub-Saharan countries.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

•   Strategy: Develop business plans to enhance the marketability of the organisation and drive the company's IPO within the specified timeframe.

•   Operations: Organise and monitor the operational activities of the company, ensuring the optimal use of resources in order to achieve a significant ROI.

•   Financial control: Manage the financial function to ensure solid capitalisation and cash flows that are in line with shareholder expectations. Responsible for ensuring that accounting practices are in accordance with tax laws and corporate instructions.

•   Human resource management: Harness the value of the existing workforce and continue the strategy of recruiting, developing and retaining the highest quality of employees in the industry.

•   Relationship management: Enhance existing relationships with financial institutions, technical partners, private and government institutions, in order to ensure the continuous growth and expansion of the business.

•   Acquisition and growth: Continue the on-going company initiative to acquire and develop assets globally.

You will be a results-driven professional with vision, creativity and strategic insight and have proven expertise in a senior management position in the oil and gas sector. Proven experience of successfully leading an International IPO, preferably in the Nigerian upstream oil and gas sector would be a distinct advantage.

This is a permanent expat role based in Lagos, Nigeria, with occasional travel across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
