Know When to Fold 'Em: Zynga Nixes Real Money Gaming in U.S.

Earlier this year, Zynga laid its chips on the gambling table, eager to draw in new revenue from real-money gambling in the wake of layoffs, a fraying relationship with Facebook and its dearth of innovative games. Today, however, the once high-flying social game maker announced that it would end its real-money gaming pursuits in the U.S., AllThingsD reported.

Zynga said that it will continue running tests of gaming products in the UK while replanting its FarmVilles and renewing its CityVilles.
