Job Title: Vice Chancellor

Location: Akaeze, Nigeria

Employer: Evangel University

Responsibilities:

•   The Vice Chancellor is the Executive Officer and the Chief Academic officer of the University and Chairman of the Senate.

•   He shall exercise general supervision over the university and shall have general responsibility to the Board of Trustees and Council for maintaining and Promoting the efficiency and good order of the University.

•   It shall be the duty of the Vice Chancellor to see that the provisions of the Law and Statute, Ordinances and Regulations of the university are observed.

Qualification and Experience: The candidate for the post of Vice Chancellor is required to possess a good University education and should be a proven successful manager of human and material resources.

Specifically, the candidate must:

1.   Be a distinguish Scholar of the Rank of a Professor with the ability to provide academic and administrative leadership for the University.

2.   Through his/her track record, command the respect of both the national and international academic communities;

3.   Possess the ability to strengthen relationship among students, staff and other members of the University community, and the general population and community.

4.   Have a feasible plan for the development of the university, in line with the set vision of the University, and possess the drive and ability to attract funds and strengthen linkages with other Universities-national and international;

5.   Be in excellent physical and mental health and;

6.   Be a person of integrity and courage, able to defend and uphold the academic independence of the University.

Terms and Conditions of Service: The posts are tenure track. The successful candidates shall hold the office for a term of four (4) years in the first Instance; renewable based on performance assessment for final term of four years. The remuneration and conditions of service are as applicable to the posts in similar Nigerian Universities, with appropriate additional conditions as may be determined from time to time by the Board of Trustees/Governing Council.

12.   Statement of Work Experience including full details of former and present posts

13.   Post-graduate Supervision; (applicable to only Vice Chancellor)

14.   Major Academic related services to the National outside the University System;

15.   Important Academic Conferences/Workshops/Courses attended; (applicable to only Vice Chancellor)

16.   Publications (Thesis, Books/Monographs, Published Articles); (applicable to only Vice Chancellor)

17.   Technical Reports; (applicable to only Vice Chancellor)

18.   Present Employment Status, Salary and Employer;

19.   Extra-Curricular Activities;

20.   Names and addresses of 3 Referees (one of whom must be in candidate's field of study);

(b) The application should include the names and addresses of three referees. Each referee should be contacted by the applicant to forward, direct to the Chairman, Board of Trustees a confidential report on the candidate's character, administrative and managerial abilities in a properly sealed envelope marked post of Vice Chancellor, or Registrar or Bursar as the case may be: Referee's Report at the top left hand corner of the envelope.
