South Africa will be host to yet another event by CAF, following the success of 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament and 2013 African Cup of Nations.
.
The CHAN tournament was officially launched on Monday by the Local Organising Committee(LOC) and it promised that "the tournament will scale the same heights as the African Cup Nations seven months ago", said Sipho Sithole.
.
The tournament which features 16 African countries, focuses on development and it allows only players based in the continent to participate in it.
.
CHAN will be hosted by cities which didn't participate in the 2013 AFCON event, namely Cape Town, Polokwane and Bloemfontein.
.
As hosts, South Africa is automatically qualified, other contestants are Nigeria, Morocco, Libya, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Ethiopia, Mali, Congo Brazzaville and Burundi.
.
South Africa Football Association(SAFA) also received a R3.6-million net profit from the LOC following the 2013 AFCON which was won by African football giants, Nigeria.
.
The readiness of the three host cities was checked this week by the LOC and CAF.

South Africa is known to be a good host anytime anyday so I'm not surprised. They hosted World Cup pretty well so we have confidence in them.
