Queensland University of Technology offers Postgraduate Research Award for Australian and International Students in the field of Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Law, Science and Engineering, Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI),  Accident Research and Road Safety and Future Environments. Applicant must have a First Class Honours (H1) or equivalent. The application deadline is 13th October 2013.

Scholarship Description: QUTPRA scholarships are awarded to students of exceptional research potential undertaking a  Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at QUT. QUTPRAs are provided to assist with general living costs. We are building research excellence by supporting students of exceptional research potential with QUT PRAs. The number of QUTPRAs offered varies from year to year. In 2013 over 60 QUTPRA scholarships were awarded.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for up to 3 years for doctoral students.

What does it cover? Applicant will receive:

-a living allowance, indexed annually ($24,653 in 2013). The scholarship is tax exempt for full-time students, and is to support living costs for up to 3 years for doctoral students.

-International students will receive an accompanying QUT Higher Degree Research Tuition Fee Sponsorship.

-Your scholarship will end when you submit your thesis, or at the end of the award's tenure, whichever comes first. You can also apply for: a $1,520 relocation allowance (domestic students only)

Notification: Applicants for a QUTPRA will be advised in early December if their application has been successful. If your application is successful, you'll need to accept the offer within 3 weeks. You'll be expected to begin your research degree early in the following year.
