Job Title: Material Engineer (MER)

Workplace: Office Port Harcourt – Nigeria

Destination: Port Harcourt and Remote Site

Employer: Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited (SCNL) – part of SAIPEM S.PA

Description of position:   

•   Develop selection critical for material

•   Reviews the Client's technical documentation and requirements

•   Responsible for the design of all piping components Issues project piping material specification and piping components data sheets

•   Performs wall thickness calculations of pipes Issues technical specification for requisition of all piping components Issues technical bid evaluation for piping components offers

•   Review and approve vendors documents Responsible for the establishment of the PMMS (Piping Material Management System) data base

•   Piping Material cost evaluation and validation cost estimate

•   Participate in vendor and outsourcing qualification

•   Participate in project/company procurement strategy (Purchasing team)
