Minister of Police Affairs Caleb Olubolade has said that no Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant in the Ekiti State governorship race can impose his opposition to the consensus option for the selection of the candidate on the party.

Rather, he said the decision on the selection process was the collective responsibility of party members with commitment to how PDP could wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC) in the state.

Olubolade, who spoke yesterday while addressing some PDP members from Ekiti South Senatorial District at a rally in Ilawe-Ekiti, said none of the contenders could overrule President Goodluck Jonathan on the issue.

According to him, unity of purpose was necessary among members for victory in the 2014 election.

The minister said those flouting the consensus order were only being rude to the President.

He, however, advised them to "retrace their steps and listen to the voice of wisdom. They have to shun ego and coalesce effort for the dream of winning the election to be realised."
