Together, Human Resources and Group Internal Audit, manage over 89,000 staff, 2,500 buildings in 68 markets and all the systems, processes and structures to ensure an efficient operation.

About the programme

Behind the scenes banks need solid and efficient frameworks to deliver the strategy. Those frameworks sit within the Specialist Functions, expertly managing internal processes to ensure we operate like a well-oiled machine.

The 18-month Specialist Functions International Graduate Programme is an intensive development programme that aims to build your capabilities towards a specialist career in a niche area of the Bank.

During the programme you will:

•   Develop a core set of personal and management skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of key processes and solutions.

There will also be a strong emphasis on building relationships throughout the programme, with your colleagues, our clients and members of our senior management team. Your success in the programme will depend on your ability to deliver under demanding circumstances while distinguishing yourself as a strong achiever.

Programme streams

You can choose to complete the Specialist Functions International Graduate Programme in one of two programme streams:

•   Group Internal Audit

•   Human Resources

Within each stream, you will have the opportunity to explore your strengths and discover what you love doing through a series of role rotations.

Each role rotation will allow you to develop a crucial understanding of a key aspect of the business area, as well as the skills and knowledge needed to carve out a unique career within our Specialist Functions.

Programme structure

In addition to completing role rotations relevant to your programme stream, you will:

•   Join the International Induction Programme (IIP) and an academic programme, which together lay the foundation for your future success.

•   Undergo a structured development programme designed to provide you with key business skills training that complements your on-the-job development

•   Benefit from extensive development support from senior managers and key stakeholders, which includes opportunities to build important networks and improve your strategic understanding of our business.
