Job Purpose: To lead cross-functional teams in the development of new brands, product variants and pack formats and the re-development where required of current brands and product variants, from brief to launch plan, on budget and on time.

Responsibilities:

•   Lead insight-based idea generation, using robust rationales and volume and financial analyses for opportunity identification and prioritization. Act as the Company's Project Management Office in ensuring agreed prioritization is followed throughout the development process.

•   Identify the cross-functional and external resources required for each project and lead cross-functional teams for all projects, from product brief to final launch planning. Provide regular status reports, in line with Company policies and processes, to all relevant stakeholders for each project.  Diligently follow up on timeframes and actions to ensure that project timelines are adhered to.

•   Work with the Brand team and local Marketing Execution teams to develop launch volume and profit forecasts, launch marketing programmes and launch budgets for presentation to and approval by the Board/senior executives.

•   Financial scope: Expenditure against innovation budgets (new and old brand and product development).

•   Work closely with the Research Manager to identify research requirements for each project and to ensure such research studies are carried out on budget and on time.

•   Ensure rigorous budget management for all projects and track expenditure against budget by project, liaising with the Marketing Accountant to provide the General Manager with regular budget updates, including both quotations and final actual budgets from agencies and suppliers.

•   Develop highly valuable relationships with an approved roster of agencies and suppliers in order to obtain a premium service level from them and ensure that the Company's requirements remain their priority at all times. Continually identify new agencies and suppliers to ensure that the Company benefits from world-class imaginative and innovative ideas at optimum pricing levels.

•   Create and gain approval for a Brand Standards manual for each new brand developed ahead of its launch.

•   Maintain an accurate project database, ensuring that all relevant studies and materials are retained for each project for future reference, business strategic planning and brand planning.  Provide all artworks to the PA to the GM for addition to the Artwork Library.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•   5-7 years' work experience at a reputable company, preferably FMCG, of which at least 2 should be in the Marketing function at a Senior Brand Manager Level or equivalent.

•   Upper second class Bachelor's degree from a reputable institution, either local or foreign.

•   Sales experience would be an advantage.

•   Postgraduate qualification in Marketing would be an advantage if the first degree is not in a Marketing-related subject.

•   The position will require travel within Nigeria to attend meetings and to monitor activity execution.
