Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by an oil and gas firm to recruit a Structural Engineer for its operations in Nigeria.

Our client a worldwide leader in providing major mechanical components for land and offshore drilling rigs, complete land drilling and well servicing rigs, tubular inspection and internal tubular coatings, drill string equipment, extensive lifting and handling equipment, and a broad offering of downhole drilling motors, bits and tools.

DESCRIPTION:

•   The Project engineer will be responsible for ensuring that procedures and documentation is in accordance with relevant procedures, rules, regulations, codes, standards and specifications and checking of design documents

•   The role reports to the Engineering Manager and will be based in Lagos.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Conduct design analysis, i.e. structural strength, buckling and fatigue analysis of structural items

•   Ensure that analysis and documentation is in accordance with relevant procedures, rules, regulations, codes, standards and specifications

•   Checking of design documents  Supply interface data as required

•   Take part in the preparation of documentation such as design briefs and design documents

•   Prepare purchase specifications

•   Follow-up with supplier " Fatigue analysis "

•   Basic material knowledge

•   Experience from simulations in ANSYS or similar  STAAD / SAP2000 beam elements or similar ,Knowledge of MathCAD

•   Knowledge of AutoCAD.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

•   Holds an engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline

•   Requires four to five years design engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

•   Must be result oriented and outgoing

•   Good analytical and problem-solving skills

•   Strong mathematical ability;

•   Computer literacy;

•   Good grasp of physics;

•   Good three-dimensional conceptual skills;

•   Excellent oral and written communication skills;

•   Good diagrammatic skills;

•   Team working ability;

•   Excellent attention to detail;

•   The ability to liaise well with professionals from other disciplines;

•   An interest in the design and structure of buildings.
