The American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking a Permanent Carpentry Site Helper. This position is a local one open to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The position will assists carpenters in repair and maintenance of doors, windows, ceiling, chairs, roofs and other wood work. Also, responsible to inspects buildings, desks, cabinets, tables and other wooden structures and equipment to ensure proper maintenance.

Position Requirements:

•   Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

•   Must also be available to work flexible hours.

•   Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

•   Ability to establish effective professional relationships with co-workers, and upper level staff.

•   Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports;

•   Have knowledge of safety practices and principles related to maintenance activities

•   Must possess strength, stamina and willingness to perform work in all weather conditions.

Other requirements, abilities for the position:

•   Ability to work in a team

•   Ability to perform basic carpentry task.

•   Demonstrate sound work ethic

•   Hard working

•   Ability to use various hand and power tools

•   Ability to work with tools

•   Ability to obey standard operating procedures
