Job Purpose:

The Primary Function of the business development and new venture analyst is to perform analysis and support in the development of new venture strategy towards building a portfolio of future high value oil and gas assets. The role is expected to include a lot of industry data gathering and competitive intelligence an understanding of financial reports, valuation models and key financial operating metrics.

•   Formulates research and analysis in line with the goals and objectives in accordance with the company's growth, profitability and expansion objectives and makes suitable recommendations to the business development director.

•   Supports the company's strategic planning processes with comprehensive data (Including but not limited to market share performance metrics, industry, and sector, supplier, customer and competitor information) and other relevant business information and ideas for the assets.

•   Conducts comprehensive market research and analysis to obtain a deep understanding of the exploration and production business, the market size and potential opportunities in Nigeria and areas of key focus.

•   Updates market information daily, giving a report on daily trends in the oil and gas industry.

•   Ensure the guidelines for approval are incorporated in all aspects of the business development processes to ensure effective controls are adhered to in handling job duties.

•   Conducts comprehensive industry overview on the global oil and gas market activities that will impact on our businesses.

•   Supports the origination, closing and ongoing management of transactions.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•   Degree in petroleum disciplines or business/economics or any other relevant fields from a reputable university.

•   2-5 years experience gained in an operator environment in e.g. Business Development, Exploration and production business, financial analysis or asset management.

•   Talented and with a strong interest in Business.

•   Thorough understanding of petroleum economics and Nigerian fiscal terms.

•   Proven competencies in using Excel, Word and Power-point software programs.

This position is a full time position.
