That Wosilat loved her husband is a statement many residents of Ajilete, a community in Ogun State will not contend. But some time ago, she chomped off one of her beloved husband's ears. Why did she do it?

Wosilat lived with her husband at Ita Oja area of Ajilete in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State. Both had been married for 11 years. Before she married Morufu, the man had had two girls from his first marriage. But Wosilat has not been blessed with a child. Morufu is a driver. He drives a private car while Wosilat sells baby wears at Owode area of Ogun State.

However, irreconcilable differences have been cited as the main reason he divorced his first wife. It was reported that Wosilat only agreed to marry Morufu after assurances that he would not be reconciled with his first wife and mother of his two kids again.

That alleged agreement between Morufu and Wosilat was kept to the letter until recently when it was rumoured that the man was seen in the company of his estranged wife at the latter's family house in Abeokuta, the state capital. That was sometime in 2011.

When Wosilat confronted her husband with the rumour that he was seen in company with his former wife, he denied the story and reassured her of his earlier promise to her.

It was reported that the story died down then and everything continued to go well between husband and wife. But things again went awry between them sometime in March when it was reported that Morufu's alleged romance with his former wife resurfaced again. An eyewitness told Saturday Mirror that in February, this year, Morufu informed Wosilat that his boss, whom he drove, had been posted out to Abeokuta.

Then, Morufu had reportedly informed his wife that he would have to relocate with his boss but that he would come home to her on weekends. Reluctantly, the woman agreed. It was also reported that since Morufu relocated to Abeokuta, his behaviour towards his wife changed.

Barely two months after his said relocation, he stopped coming home every weekend. Many times his wife went to Abeokuta to see him; he would not allow her stay the night but prevail on her to return to Ajilete. Before long, it was reported that Morufu changed his house and two phone numbers which prevented Wosilat from communicating with him.

It did not occur to Wosilat early that her husband had fully reunited with his estranged wife. It was reported that on Saturday, 21 September, 2013, Wosilat received a strange call from a woman who turned out to be her husband's former estranged wife. The woman at the other end of the line reportedly threatened to deal with her if she did not leave her husband alone.

The woman, probably out of anger, was said to have informed Wosilat that she had been reconciled with her husband and that both of them and their two kids were now living together in peace. Wosilat, at the time, did not have her husband's telephone contact to confirm the news. However, Morufu reportedly brought a lorry to their Ajilete home apparently to move his belongings out of the house.

And that was the opportunity Wosilat had been waiting for. She did not give the man the opportunity to explain himself, before she descended on him and bit several parts of his body. In the process, the woman allegedly nearly bit off the man's ear. A drunk that he is, Morufu reportedly could not match Wosilat strength for strength. He fainted while blood reportedly gushed out of his ears. Adekunle is a neighbour who reportedly witnessed the fight between the husband and wife.

According to the bricklayer, "the noise came suddenly and it came from the woman's room. By the time we rushed there, we just saw the man on the floor soaked in his own blood.

He was unconscious. The woman joined us to take the man to a clinic close by here, but later told us that she wanted to go home to pick some money we would use to take him to a bigger hospital. By the time we waited and did not see her, and got home, we realised that the woman had fled the town. We have not seen her since."
