Keshi Invites 28 For Jordan Friendly

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has invited 28 players for the friendly tie against Jordan on October 28 in Amman, Jordan.

While Jordan will use the match to prepare for their 2014 Fifa World Cup play-off fixture against Uruguay, the Super Eagles will use the encounter to prepare for the 2014 African Nations Championship taking place in South Africa in January.

The encounter is one of the several build-up matches the football house has lined up for the home boys ahead of their campaign in the Rainbow Nation.

Invited are three goalkeepers, eight defenders, nine midfielders and eight strikers. Ejike Uzoenyi, who is back home from a stint in France, is a surprise call-up on the list.

Top on Keshi's list are the five members of the squad that faced Ethiopia in a World Cup qualifier namely goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, defenders Azubuike Egwuekwe, Solomon Kwambe and Benjamin Francis, and midfielder, Sunday Mba.

There are also other regulars like goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, defenders, Ebenezer Odunlami and Umar Zango, midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo and forwards, Gambo Mohammed, Ifeanyi Ede, Joseph Osadiaye and Ezekiel Mbah.

The 28 invitees have been advised to report to the Abuja camp on Thursday, October 17 with their passports as visa processing for the trip will commence on Friday, October 18.

The delegation is expected to leave for Amman on Friday, October 25.
