Job Description: This role will act as guardian of the defined design envelopes of plant and equipment with respect to hull,and mooring systems for FPSOs and offloading systems in the offshore area of Shell in Nigeria. Scope would include concept selection through execution phases of projects.

Other responsibilities:

•   Undertake front-end engineering studies,as required,to identify and develop performance improvement changes

•   Prepare workscope and be responsible for the execution for FEED FEED and detailed design of hulls,mooring and offloading systems for Projects.

•   Ensure that all proposed modifications allow safe operation of facilities and maintain technical integrity

•   Participate in design reviews,audits and other structural-related reviews

•   Contribute to the development of the procurement and construction contracts for HMOI systems. Specify requirements for fabrication,installation and precommissioning.

•   Play a leading role within own discipline in assigned project team and delivering on promises (e.g. project schedule,cost,and quality,specification,designs,hardware,functionality within HSE,cost).

•   Responding to significant cost pressures in both project delivery and SNEPCo business.

Requirements:

•   B.Sc./B.Eng in structural engineering, marine engineering or naval architecture with a minimum of 12 years' offshore engineering experience incorporating the following: – A minimum of 5 years' in FPSO and marine design experience at level for detailed designs of hull and/or mooring systems – A minimum of 7 years' in marine construction experience at level for detailed designs of hull and/or mooring systems – A good understanding of Industry with the ability to challenge standards and current engineering practices – Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team as well and to work independently with a minimum of supervision. The hull and marine engineer must have knowledge/skill level in HSSE and applications within the Oil and gas Industry. – Working knowledge of a global motion analyses software is mandatory: – Working knowledge of SACS, USFOS and COSMOS design/simulation packages will be an advantage.

•   Strong interpersonal skills – able to influence and develop relationships across disciplines and culture, be comfortable coaching and motivating others, and delivering through others.

•   Familiar with project development challenges in Nigeria or in other regions with similar challenges.

•   Excellent communication skills.

•   Skillful at leading through influence.

•   Values and is open to listening to stakeholders perspectives, maintain composure under pressure while providing clear and decisive leadership
