Leiden University is offering grant for international students in Netherlands. Grant is available for students in a two-year master's or research master's programme, which may or may not contain study, research or internship period abroad. Outbound Study Grants for work placements can only be applied for if this is a compulsory part of the curriculum and if study points are awarded for this element. The application deadline is 31 August 2014. (Applicants are advised to submit the completed application for the grant 5 months before departure. The application should be received by Student and Educational Affairs at the latest 8 weeks before the departure date.)

Scholarship Description: For students in a two-year master's or research master's programme, who will go for a (compulsory) study, research or internship period abroad. The study/research/internship period abroad should be for a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 12 months. The Executive Board of Leiden University has decided that students are expected to contribute € 600 per month themselves.

What does it cover?  The calculation of the Outbound Study Grant is based on the following:

-A so-called country list containing standardized amounts for travel costs per country and living costs per country/per month

-Your own contribution of € 600 per month (standard amount as decided by the Executive Board of Leiden University)

-Third-party funding of which 50% will be deducted from the Outbound Study Grant

-For the calculation of the period abroad, the number of weeks will be counted and converted to months, whereby 1 month equals 4 weeks. For example: 25 weeks / 4 = 6.25 months
