Ogun State - Amosun Reassures Prospective Investors Of Bountiful Returns

 Investors and industrialists considering opening shop in Ogun State have again been assured by the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun that they would reap bountiful returns on their investments.     This is because the administration’s determination to continually provide amenities and infrastructure for creating an enabling environment for their businesses to thrive remained unwavering.      Governor Amosun renewed the assurance on Wednesday in Abeokuta while receiving in his office, a delegation of the Manufacturer Association of Nigeria (MAN) led by its National president, Chief Kolawole Jamodu.     The Governor said in the last two years, government had been fixing all the decayed infrastructures inherited from the past administration, saying the State remained the most industrialized in the country today.     “We are the most industrialized State in Nigeria and we are creating all the necessary enabling environment including power through massive distribution of transformers, good road network, potable water supply and other infrastructure that will further boost industrial base of the State” the governor said.     He affirmed that existing industrial concerns in the State are working in full capacity, adding that with this, twin problems of unemployment and criminal activities in the State are being reduced.     The Governor therefore charged the delegation to impress it on their members operating in the State to see themselves as partners in progress by paying up their taxes and levies to the government as at when due, as this would further propel government to provide more for them.     Addressing their complaints on multiplicity of agencies visiting industrial concerns in the State, the Governor counseled those involved to liaise appropriately with the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry for harmonization for the benefit of all     Earlier in his address, Chief Jamodu said his mission in the State was to visit all the association’s branches and take a stock of how members are fairing. He thanked the governor for the support being given to the manufacturing sector and advised that government should increase patronage of locally made products.     In another development, a delegation of the International Fund for Agricultural development (IFAD) led by the Country’s representative Mrs. Atsuko Toda also paid a similar visit to governor Amosun, during which she informed the governor of IFAD’s plan to embark on massive planting of locally made Ofada rice and cassava in the State.     Responding, Governor Amosun promised to give the organisation all the necessary support to actualize the project, noting that massive agricultural production is one the major cardinal programmes of his government.
