Job Title: Fieldworker II Seedbank – 2 year renewable contract

Employer: International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)  

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position of Fieldworker II Seedbank at the Institute's Headquarters, Ibadan.

Position/Responsibilities:

Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

•   Field and screen house assistant on Planting for regeneration, herbicide and insecticide application.

•   Data collection and entry for screen house and field regeneration and multiplication activities.

•   Characterization of maize and miscellaneous legumes.

•   Maize pollination and Characterization.

•   Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification, Experience and Skills: Senior School certificate (SSCE) with at least 2 years experience in screen house management data collection and Gene banking.

The ideal candidate must

•   Be honest and hardworking.

•   Be a good team player and be able to follow instructions;

•   Have adequate knowledge about the maintenance culture of maize genetic resources field bank.

•   Be energetic and able to work under pressure
